Encountering elephant in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park is always interesting! Because of the hilly terrain - you'll be climbing a hill, and suddenly the elephant are in front of you. Although it doesn't look like it in the photo's - the road was fairly steep. We had about three cars behind us trying to view the elephant and were blocking our reverse path... so when the matriarch started getting a little iffy - we got a little nervous.
